#Announcement
Hearing Loss Association of America Get in the Hearing Loop Committee (HLAA GITHL) announces that, at our request, Google Maps recently added a new accessibility attribute for hearing loop systems called Assistive Hearing Loop. The new feature, visible in the About section for businesses and organizations, is easy to find and indicates if a mapped location provides a hearing loop. Hearing loops are the most user-friendly assistive listening option and the first choice for many people. Even in acoustically challenging spaces, a hearing loop lets people participate more fully in daily activities. We need your help getting the word out about how life-changing hearing loops are and helping people with hearing loss find and use them. Choose what you would like to do! See the handout for 5 actions to promote hearing loops.

Google Maps Toolkit ( https://www.hearingloss.org/programs-events/get-hearing-loop/hearing-loop-toolkit/ ) Finally, you may have heard that hearing loops are now an accessibility attribute on Google Maps. To help people use this new feature and spread the word about hearing loops, we created a small toolkit to help you find the loops on Google Maps, write a review, upload photos, and submit looped venue info to us.
