HLAA Executive Director Barbara Kelley’s Email Account Hacked

Carla Beyer-Smolin

Dear HLAA Community,

Earlier today (June 30), you may have received a spam email requesting a gift card from HLAA Executive Director Barbara Kelley. This was a spam email–please do not respond. Barbara would never request this from our HLAA Chapters. She would never make any requests outside of HLAA. The HLAA National Office immediately connected this morning with our IT support team when we learned of this spam email. This email was sent from bkelley.hearingloss@..., which is not a legitimate email address.

It is important to know how to look for spam email, scams and phishing. We hope you find these resources helpful.
