It's the same all over, England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland. However, I haven't been able to find proof that such a service is unavailable from any UK telecoms service provider.

John,

We have captioning available on both cell phones and land lines. It’s government funded. The spoken words appear on a screen. That isn’t a service provided in England? How about the rest of the UK?

Wow! If he doesn’t know what it is, it sounds as tho’ they don’t have captioning. Yet they are so far ahead of us on looping.

I can't help because I don't know what you mean by 'phone captioning services'. We don't have the fastest broadband, but most people get a pretty good service.

Friends,  I am told that phone captioning services are not available in England due to outdated data transmission lines, etc.  Is there any truth to that?  Thanks!
