[HLAAGITHL] Remote Microphones for Hearing Aids--Roger ON

David et al. - The Roger On mic is apparently the smartest of the smart remote mics but it sure comes at a high price.  In my experience people are not being told about these devices just as they're not told about telecoils so see attached...

Agree with all . . . my new Roger On is great . . . definitely enhances my hearing in meetings and (via its directional setting) in conversation in noisy places . . . and also connects to my laptop to send sound to my aid and CI.

And yes, it's expensive--last night I paid the $1500 bill to the ENT office. The technology is good enough that I so wish Phonak and AB would consider (perhaps they have) a different business model, by greatly reducing the cost (even making it default addition to all Phonak purchases for slightly more money). If they could sell ten times as many for one tenth the cost could they sustain revenue, serve more people, and generate happier word of mouth for their hearing technology?

But likely they've thought through all this . . .

Thanks Steve. This topic comes up regularly. I’ll share when it’s appropriate. Much appreciated!  Now, if we could just get the audiologists to have counseling/orientation sessions!
