Casey Letter to VA on Section 508 Compliance

Ronald Drach

FYI! I talked to the staff for more than an hour mostly about hearing loss/captioning (including captioning for telehealth) and other 508 issues.

I look forward to seeing some of you in Tampa in a few weeks.

Subject: Casey Letter to VA on Section 508 Compliance

Good morning,

I wanted to flag that Senate Aging Committee Chairman Casey Bob Casey sent the attached letter to the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) on Section 508 compliance yesterday morning. It had ten signatures total, five Democrats and five Republicans, including Aging Committee Ranking Member Tim Scott and the Chairs and Ranking Members of both the House Veterans Affairs Committee and the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee.

The Aging Committee press release on the letter is here. Stars and Stripes also wrote an article, which is here.

Thank you for your help with our efforts on this issue. Chairman Casey looks forward to continuing to work on website accessibility at both VA and across the federal government. If you have thoughts or questions about our work in this space, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Sincerely,
